The Weather in Vietnam - what to expect


April marks the transition out of Vietnam's peak weather season. You can expect plenty of dry days in the North, though it’s transitioning into its hot, wet summer.

In the Central region, the beaches remain perfect for swimming and water activities, while the South sees rising temperatures and humidity, with occasional rain offering some relief.

The various regions experience different climates:

  • North Vietnam (Hanoi and Ha Long Bay):

    Heading towards hot, wet summer months with temperatures rising to around 24°C. Expect occasional rainfall towards the end of the month.

  • Central Vietnam (Danang, Hue, and Hoi An):

    April offers sunshine and clear skies, ideal for swimming and water activities, with average temperatures around 28°C and minimal rainfall.

  • South Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City):

    April is hot, averaging over 30°C, with increasing chances of rain to cool things down.
